Custom Shop Process
01— Agree
Align on the process!
- Review the approach
- Enter into a very simple agreement
- The agreement determines ownership, trademarks, and ability to reproduce as a commercial product or not
02— Ideate
Imagine it!
- Discuss and visualize space and use of space
- Architectural style elements
- Rough dimensions and mounting type
- Sound control demands
03— Design
Let's Get Specific!
- Nail down measurements and drawings
- Do we have the right material with desired characteristics and acoustical value?
- Covering type?
- Necessary hardware components
04— Prototype
Create it and test it!
- Produce a prototype of the design
- Test the hardware and installation
- If viable, then send prototype for early testing at Johns Manville (sound and fire)
- Assess durability
- Determine product costs and repeatability
05—Build
Make it happen!
- After the prototype phase, we meet to discuss whether we like the outcome and want to specify the product
- We then determine the time frame to produce and the costs.
