What is MAS?
The MAS Certified Green® is a certification program created by Materials Analytical Services, LLC (MAS) to reduce harmful chemical emissions from indoor environments.
This program certifies building materials, furnishings, and other indoor products that have passed the most rigorous testing and have proven to be low volatile organic compound (VOC) emitting materials. This helps designers, architects, builders, consumers, and other end-users find and quickly identify products that meet the most stringent indoor air quality guidelines in “green” buildings.
Similarly, the MAS Certified Green® also helps manufacturers and resellers monitor their products for chemical emissions that would go against relevant regulatory and industry emissions standards.
The Low VOC Emitting Materials Certification Program is an independent emissions testing program that follows its testing requirements and integrates them with others like the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Standard Method, the BIFMA furniture sustainability standards, and formaldehyde emission testing requirements of the California EPA.
The MAS Certified Green® Program has been accredited and recognized to meet the laboratory testing standards of the following organizations: LEED, CDPH, BIFMA, CHPS, and GSA.
